This International Women’s Day, we’re shining a spotlight on some of the remarkable individuals who contribute to our organization. Meet Annamarie Bermundo, Vice President of Marketing and Customer Experience.
What is one piece of advice you would give your younger self?
Stay driven, committed and curious—these qualities can open doors beyond what you initially imagine.
What’s a moment in your career that made you feel truly proud?
Taking calculated risks in something that I believed in led to significant innovation and growth. I led the development of an intelligent vending machine for a global beauty brand in New York. It was a first of its kind in the world so it came with risk and investment, but I believed it would open up new business models. It required months of selling and re-selling the vision, presenting the opportunities and benefits, identifying potential challenges (and having a solution for them) and building advocacy and support from key stakeholders. This innovation became the prototype for future projects and created a ripple-effect in the industry.
Who has inspired you and why?
Early in my career, I reported into a female leader who showed me that strong results and compassionate leadership are not mutually exclusive.
What’s one challenge you’ve faced, and how did it shape you?
Driving transformational change requires patience and persistence. Throughout my career, I learned the importance of engaging stakeholders early, incorporating feedback and fostering shared ownership—an approach that ultimately leads to stronger outcomes.
What advice would you give to the next generation of people in your industry?
Success is shaped by more than intelligence or expertise alone. Being driven, openness to continuously learn from others and the ability to build meaningful connections are critical to long-term growth.
